Can you create a subdomain as a virtual host, with its own account?

For example if my website was www.whatever.com and I wanted to provide hosting to a friend, with his own seperate account, at joe.whatever.com could I do this?

Yes, instead of adding the domain name example car.com you would add me.car.com when creating an account.
