Which firewall do you suggest for using with Fedora Core 3 + DSM?
Which ports should be open FOR DSM functionality?
(I will open only 21,22,25,80,110,443,3000,3001,3005)
I will setup APF Firewall, any comment?
Thanks,

For example, license checking function need any port? because I limit outbound traffic, too.
Thanks.
There is not a particular firewall that we recommend, but we do recommend that you use one. We suggest that you restrict access to any ports that you do not use as well as any that you do not use out of the list below.
Below is the list of open ports/services on a typicall dsm machine.
21/tcp open ftp
22/tcp open ssh
25/tcp open smtp
26/tcp open alternate smtp port
80/tcp open http
110/tcp open pop3
143/tcp open imap
443/tcp open https
993/tcp open imaps
995/tcp open pop3s
3000/tcp open DSM
3001/tcp open Webmail
3306/tcp open mysql
5432/tcp open postgres
3500/tcp open DSM Secure

Our license server uses outbound 3030, but makes no incoming connections.

Hello,
http is working Fine on my server.
But When I type HTTPS it doesn't work
Gives an Error Can't Find Server
How HTTPS can be activated on DSM created Domain ?
Regards!
apache ssl runs on port 443 and is enabled by default. You must setup a cert for it to work though. Once you have installed a cert telnet to port 443 from the local machine. If you do not get a connection refused error then ssl is running and you need to look at your firewall configuration.
