How to update via ssh

I know that you can update dsm using the control panel, but I would like to be able to update dsm when logged into ssh.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To update dsm via the command line use the command below.

/usr/local/dsm/bin/updatedsm

Those docs refer to DSM version 2. I will update them now. But to upgrade dsm v3 you only need to run the below command.

yum update
