When checking on some file sizes on my server we came across a huge file (1GB+) for the site on our server which has the most traffic. Is this normal? there were a few other big ones, too. Also, does the file get infinitely large or does the web log reset at some point in the future?

rwoodcom@server domlogs]$ pwd
/usr/local/apache/domlogs

[rwoodcom@server domlogs]$ ls -ls
total 1892136
_

987308 -rw-r--r--___ 1 root____ root____ 1010011404 Sep 16 17:17 rwood.com

am I reading this correctly? is this log file approaching 1 GB ? and the total of all lof files approaching 2 GB ?

thanks

domlogs at this point are not rotated because many providers who use our product manage logs differently. We can provide you with a solution if you would like to have the log files automatically managed. Just let us know how often or at what size you would like the logs rotated etc.

The last thing that we want you to have is an upset client who's log files where rotated or purged before they were able to download them.

thanks very much for your reply. I would consider a refresh date after one year.

am I correct about the file size of these domlogs?
is that really a GB?

thanks
