DNS Server configurationg

Ok, so I ordered a dedicated server and it came with DSM. Love the features of DSM ove what I was using(ensim).

My only problem is I have no clue on how to setup my box to have it act as DNS. like ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com.

Are there directions somewhere on how to do this or can someone run through the directions real quick for me?

Ok, I was half asleep when I posted the 1st message, so let me try and word it a little better:


Got a new dedicated machine today with DSM installed.
When I went to the DSM login and logged in as root I got a server setup screen asking for dsn servers and some email addresses and other stuff.

Lets say the primary domain is mydomain.com, I want my two name servers to be ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com and I have 11 IP's so having them on diffirent IP's is no problem. Do I put the ns1 and ns2.mydomain.com in that server setup screen and then how to I tell DSM to start using those Namesevrers and how do I set them up in dsm?

If thats not what I put in those boxes, how do I change it, I read the pdf file and it says there is a link in DSM to change that info, but I cant find it.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Based on most of your posts it sounds like you need some howto's or a systems administrator. :)

and I am a system admin, just used to cpanel and ensim and there is no docs for DSM yet.
